The Daily Study Bible Series is a scholarly yet readable approach to the Old Testament. This series is the Hebrew Testament partner to Barclay's New Testament commentaries. This volume by J.G. McCoville on 1 and 2 Chronicles begins with an introductory section which discusses the date and authorship of the books, the literary aspects and the message of the texts. The commentary is an in-depth study and does well to draw out the history and message of these writings.
