500 Hymns for Instruments is designed as an excessory to the Lillens hymnal, Worship in Song. This is book E for horns (F) and Alto Saxophones (E flat) I, II. These instrumentations will serve predominantly as accompaniment to congregational singing, but by design they are useful in a number of ways: for orchestra or smaller ensemble preludes, offertories, postludes, etc.
