In a series of meditations and exercises based on the poem attributed to St.Brendan the Navigator, David Adams invites us to consider whether God is calling us to live more adven- turourly, to extend ourselves, to seek new horizons. The otherworld was always near to the Celtic mind. It breaks into our world even now. It is surely when we embrace it, when we look beyond the obvious and reach for the invisible, when we really trust God for everything, that we may hope to find a desert in the ocean of our own.
