This study guide provides an introduction to scientific principles which will later be studied in more detail and depth. Biographies will relate the life stories of such scientific greats as Archimedes, Galileo, Marie Curie, Thomas Alva Edison, Albert Einstein, and Louis Pasteur. Other scientists and inventors, including Isaac Newton, the Wright Brothers, and Alexander Graham Bell, will be introduced with outside research, such as library investigation, lab or related activities assigned. The course will take one school year to complete if two lessons are finished each week. This should be more than adequate for students in second through fourth grade. For older students it is suggested that the course be completed in a semester by doing three to four lessons per week.
