The only detailed, illustrated, single volume history of the two churches that joined together in 1934 to become the Evangelical and Reformed Church and, twenty-three years later in 1957 became part of the United Church of Christ. This volume, written by seven historians and church leaders from within the Evangelical and Reformed traditions, was first published in 1961. This new edition includes an introduction by Lowell Zuck and an updated bibliography.
