Author Molly Manley and illustrator Janet Marshall have combined whimsy with beautiful cut-paper collages to create a unique about a treasured place in New England. Each of the twelve limericks concerns one or more animal characters enjoying or getting into mischief at a popular Nantucket site. The nanny of the title is a goat, of course. Her name is Miss Peach, and she peddles the twins to the beach. There's also a deer named Georgie who goes out for a jog in the Shawkemo fog, a seal named Kerrie who decides to race the FastFerry, and a cat from Quidnet named Lizzy whose hair was 'impossibly frizzy.' Recommended for ages 4 and up.
