The lives of ten prominent African Americans are represented in this book. Each is featured in an information-rich, eight-page mini-book that contains a follow-up and an at-home activity. The text is aesthetically pleasing, and the line drawings are easy to color. Students will read about Harriet Tubman's trips on the Underground Railroad and Bill Pickett's daring feats in the rodeo ring, among others.
