Baptists in the Balance is a collection of essays, sermons, lectures, articles, and addresses reflecting the thoughts and experiences of a variety of Baptists and others who observe Baptist life in the late twentieth century. While the contributors represent widely divergent perspectives, they have in common a desire to articulate what it means to be Baptist, and in particular what being a Baptist means for living faithfully in the tension between freedom and responsibility.
