We are not a people who wait graciously, In the weeks preceding Christmas, when we are bombarded with reminders about the number of shopping days that remain, the idea of waiting with hope and anticipation, rather than rushing with anxiety, seems quite foreign to us. But it is precisely to this waiting with hope that the church calls us in the beginning of the liturgical year. It is this waiting with hope that Carroll Stuhlmueller invites us to celebrate and ponder in Biblical Meditations for Advent and the Christmas Season.
