Well written, informative, and informed(!), this volume exposes the authors' wide ranging experience, and subsequent reflection about Buddhism. Although specifically Christian, the book demonstrates great sympathy and appreciation for this often mysterious religion as it studies Buddhism in its Oriental context, and in its surprising success in the contemporary West. Yet, the authors do not mince words about the differences between the religions and critique it respectfully from a Christian point of view. This book, Buddhism: A Christian Exploration and Appraisal now stands as the most important and well articulated introduction to Buddhism available to Christians.
