Charlie Bucket and his family are very poor. Things are even worse now that Mr. Bucket has lost his job at the toothpaste factory. The only happiness that Charlie has is the one single chocolate bar that he receives on his birthday. This year's bar will be even more important because it could be the bar with the golden ticket. Willy Wonka, the owner of the largest chocolate factory in the world, has decided to have a contest. He has hidden five gold tickets inside the chocolate bars. The five lucky people who find the tickets will be invited to be his guests at his factory for the day. In addition, they will receive enough candy to last them a lifetime.
