Chinese Religion surveys the most recent archaeological discoveries relating to the religion of antiquity. It includes studies of mythology, the philosophical and religious traditions of Confucianism (with its moral and social focus), Taoism ( with its mysticism and immortality cult), and Chinese Buddhism (particularly Chan and Pure Land), as well as popular religion, Christianity, and Islam. Ching also makes comparisons between Christianity and other religious traditions of China.
