This book adopts the format of the editors' previous book Buddhists Talk about Jesus, Christians Talk aobut the Buddha, where scholar-practioners--four of them Buddhist and four Christian--explore their relationship to the great religious leader of the other tradition. Then the remaining contributors, two from each tradition, address themselves to the views expressed. In this volume, Christian contributors include Francis S. Adeney, Mary Frohlich, Paul O. Ingram, Ursula King, Donald W. Mitchell, Terry C. Muck, and Bardwell Smith. Buddhist contributors include Robert Aitken, Grace Burford, Mahinda Deegallee, Rita M. Gross, Kenneth K. Tanaka, Robert Thurman, and Taitetsu Unno.
