The fourth and final part of the Doctrine of Creation returns to the problem of ethics begun in volume II.2 (the Doctrine of God part 2). Again, Barth engages the theme of God's command in examining theological ethics in light of the divine call to covenant-partnership with God. In doing so, Barth takes up one of his central themes: freedom. Freedom before God, freedom in fellowship, freedom for life, and freedom in limitation constitute the major sections of this volume, which also treats such topics as prayer and vocation.
