Cosmic Grace, Humble Prayer shows that for centuries the Eastern Orthodox Church has maintained and emphasized a theologically applicable and coherent view of Creation. It is derived from placing the doctrine of Creation in the context of its doctrine of theosis and a long tradition of nature oriented Mystics. The most prominent spokesman for this movement in the Eastern Church, is Bartholomew I who from 1991-2007 presented a number addresses and statements, drawn together here, which establish a magisterial-and deeply theological--Ecological vision for the church, without political baggage. The pieces are organized first by chronology and then secondarily by theme. Issues of particular importance are specifically highlighted throughout the book.
