The purpose of Discipline Quietly is to help students develop self-mastery. When students learn that there's a time to work, listen, talk and play...and can do each in the appropriate situation without wasting time in between... teaching can become what it's meant to be...Teaching. Students need to know that you want them to be the best person they can be, that you want them to learn as much as they can possibly learn, and that you are willing to do everything you can to help them learn. It is vital that they understand that you are the person who has been assigned to help them learn to learn on their own, just as they will have to do when they become adults. They need to know that you will not spend your time reprimanding them. You are there to teach and praise, to do so, you will need their cooperation. Help students develop: - Self-control
- Self-discipline
- Self-mastery
