Discipling in the Church is an attempt to work toward an evangelical understanding of church discipline - that is a church discipline consistent with the gospel. The thesis of the book is that the church must accept the ministry of reaching out with help to erring believers and that the church must take as its guide for this task the way of the gospel - the way Jesus reached out to tax collectors and sinners to restore them.
