The Dinsmores, Travillas, and Raymonds decide to spend the summer in cottages by the sea on Nantucket Island. They journey there aboard a yacht with Captain Raymond at the helm. On the island they enjoy the village of Sconset and explore several points of local interest. The children learn to swim, and the families enjoy relaxing beach walks, carriage drives, and boat rides, even a New England clam bake on the beach. There are, however, a few learning moments. When a violent storm catches Lulu far from the cottage, she learns a frightening lesson about obedience and Zoe learns about faith and trust in God to keep her husband safe. Recommended for ages 10 to 14. |
