The story of the transformation of an obscure Galilean fisherman into a courageous preacher and leader of the early church is a remarkable one. A story made all the more remarkable because Simon Peter is someone with whom we can so ready -ily identify. Impetuous and impulsive, he is so human we can all see ourselves in him at some point. For this very reason Christians cannot help but take courage as we see how the Lord teached and transforms Simon.
