These workbooks complement the textbooks 'Call Me Gene' and 'My Name is Gene'. They are divided into three sections: 1. Cases to Solve: The student will be able to solve cases related to genetic diseases, agriculture, and forensic medicine. He will also learn about pedigrees and how Scientists use the GeneBank database to identify and/or retrieve DNA sequences. 2. Hands-On Activities and Games: The student will learn how to extract DNA from a vegetable and make simple DNA and cell models. A game will show how DNA decoding works. A crossword puzzle and word search are also included. 3. Exercises: The student will test his basic knowledge of DNA, RNA, Mutation, and cell structure. The Teachers edition includes the same pages as the student edition as well as explanations and answers.
