Sarah 'Scoop' Coop befriends Twila Twopennies, the owner of a mare and foal Scoop helped deliver one snowbound morning a few months before. Twila admires Scoop's natural abilities with horses and invites her to help at her ranch. Scoop's friends see some amazing similarities between Twila and Scoop: they look almost alike and have strangely similar interests and tastes. Scoop also learns that Twila had been married a long time ago. Is it possible that Twila could be Scoop's birth mother? As she struggles with the possibilities of what the truth may be, Scoop learns that her real home is where her heart is - with Aunt Dotty, her brother B.C. and her horse, Orphan - and that God placed her there for a very good reason. Recommended for ages 12 to 16.
