At first reading, most Christians might dismiss the Book of Ruth as a simple story of romance and redemption, an Old Testament tale with no bearing on their lives. But Wilson retells this story in such a way that it becomes inspiring and so much more. She uses numerous New Testament Scriptures to show how the relationship of Naomi and Ruth is an allegory for how mature believers can disciple new believers, and how the marriage of Ruth and Boaz foreshadows the relationship of Jesus with the Body of Christ.
