To Celia, it was simply the yearly Christmas concert at the private school. Of course, it was the first year in their new facility, and the local media was to be on hand, so in a sense, just maybe it was going to be a special evening. But to the burned-out music teacher, it still seemed no more than another night of getting dressed in her finest, only to watch seven-hundred children do the same. However, as her elite boys' choir sang Gesu Bambine, their pure voices perfectly on pitch and their Latin enunciation impeccable, Celia was overcome by the sound of a baby's low cry. Feeling 'strangely warmed', in the words of John Wesley, she dismissed it as an emotional moment caused by the glow of lights, and the glitz of the regal, deep-purple velvet stage curtain. Little did shi know that, before the night was over, she was going to discover that most memorable gift of her life, and give her beloved students the most valuable lesson they would ever learn.
