Addressing one's homosexuality is no easy matter. The journey requires leaving Egypt, traveling through the wilderness, and having the courage to enter the Promised Land, the land which Howard calls 'resting in God's perfect plan for our life.' She wants others to experience with her a 'purposeful pilgrimage' there, rather than a 'weary wandering' heading nowhere.
