This is the first volume of The Standard Sermons of John Wesley, transcribed into today's English. The volumes in this series accurately transcribe Wesley's eighteenth-century language into a form suitable for today's readers. Volume 1, 1-20 contains the first twenty sermons, in which Wesley preaches about Christian beliefs. Appropriate for individual and small-group study.
Kenneth Cain Kinghorn (Ph.D., Emory University), is Professor of Church History and Historical Theology. He is also Vice President-at-Large at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky. He has written 11 books including Gifts of the Spirit, The Gospel of Grace, The Heritage of American Methodism, Discovering Your Spiritual Gifts, and many other book reviews and articles.
