Combining musical education with a fun, stress-free system of learning, KinderBach teaches children ages 3-7 how to play the piano, read notes, intervals, rhythm, and music patterns. No musical teaching background is required, though parental participation is required at least for the first viewing of a lesson. Keeping it fun and interesting always with games, puzzles, coloring, singing, most materials needed are included and re-printable. Activity, song and parent guide pages are provided as PDF files on CDs for families to print as many pages as needed. Learning is child-paced and gradual, with the various tasks and techniques of playing the keyboard are separated them into child-sized portions. For example: Before playing a song, rhythm, note identification, note placement, and music patterns are presented as different items through discussion and games. A variety of gross and fine motor movements both at the piano and away from the keyboard are demonstrated: children will sing, use rhythm instruments, dance and explore intervals through physical demonstration. In addition, the colorful personalities of the piano pals and other KinderBach friends engage the children's imaginations as well as their bodies. Lessons are set up simply: 1. Print the Lesson pages 2. Gather materials - lesson pages, crayons, glue, and safety scissors. 3. Set up the keyboard or piano near the video screen or use the paper keyboard provided in front of the TV or computer. Stop the video and go to the real keyboard or piano to repeat the exercises. Do this often as it is important for the student to feel the real keys. 4. Pause or stop the video to give your child time to finish an activity or answer a question him/herself as needed.
