To George MacDonald, all of life's truth could be discovered in an extremely simple two step process: realizing who God is, then obeying Him. He offers a path of discovery to knowing the Father intimately, a path whose only door is obedience. Challenging his readers with the idea that true 'knowledge' of God is far more than mental assent to gospel truth, he brings the reader to the feet of a wondrously loving Father who wants to be known in the heart.
