One way to approach the study of another religion is to examine its source materials. The Koran, to the Muslim, is on a level similar to that of Christ to the Christian, and as such can be looked at as Islam's best ambassador. Translator N.J. Dawood first published this translation of the Koran in 1956, and has revised his translation after years of further study in both the Arabic language and the style of the Koran. Also included is a calligraphy version of the original Arabic alongside each English translation. Does not contain any hadith or commentary.
