This edition is intended primarily for the reader whose know ledge of late medieval Latin and sixteenth-century German is too small to permit him to work with Luther in the original languages. Volume 10 presents the first half of Luther's first lectures on the Bible, often referred to as Initium theologiae Lutheri ('The Beginning of Luther's Theology'). This edition is a selection of works that have proved their importance for the faith, life, and history of the Christian church.
