Did you ever wonder why the Scripture compares us to sheep so often? Raising sheep, Sarah learned many reasons why this is so. Come with her on a great unit study about sheep and our relationship with them. Like a Shepherd includes research questions on thier long history with Man, the parts of sheep, their breeding, food from sheep, vet checks and problems with sheep, and the different kids of sheep. There are many resources, including internet sites and addresses to write for free information about sheep. Many different activities for all ages are included. Your unit, Like a Shepherd, may take a month or it can be used in part for a wonderful week off from your regular studies. Choose among many great activities: poems, essays, book reports, posters, and research interviews. There is a field trip planned into the unit too, complete with interview questions and things to look for at the shepherder's place. Count the hours spent studying sheep and give your student credit for doing this unit. Anywhere from 1/4 credit to a whole credit of Animal Science may be earned using this book.
