Many people who are great by the world's standards or who are in positions of authority lord their greatness over those they consider below them. Often such people expect to be served. But not our Lord Jesus. The Lord of heaven and earth took on the lowly form of a man to serve humanity and to sacrifice His life to ransom people from sin, death, and Satan. Mark speaks to us today about this suffering Messiah; the meaning of His sacrifice and resurrection for us; and His call to us to follow Him in a life of servanthood and sacrifice.
