This is a revised edition of a textbook published in 1984. There are two approaches used in marriage-and-family texts: the lifestyle approach and the problem-centered approach. This book takes the former approach, which lends itself well organizationally to a good integration of biblical principles. It covers all the main topics from a distinctively evangelical Christian perspective: mate selection, premarital sex, minority families, aging, finances, and more. This edition 'freshens up' the material but also gives more treatment to certain topics than the first edition did. The book uses case studies, discussion questions, suggested reading, glossary, and tables and illustrations to add interest and practical value. The interior design will have good visual features that add apeal for students.
