Mathercise Book B is a mathematical fitness program designed to keep middle and high school students taking pre-algebra, algebra, or a first-year high school math course in great mathematical shape. It is a series of 50 class starters which strengthen important math skills. You can easily integrate Mathercise Book B into your existing math program because it requires very little additional preparation. Instead of taking up valuable class time, a regular Mathercise program will actually give you more time to teach because it encourages your students to come to class on time and immediately get 'on task.' The book contains 50 reproducible Mathercise Book B masters. Each Mathercise is a set of three problems and a space for a fourth. The first problem (reason) is always an inductive and deductive reasoning problem. The second problem (solve) is a symbolic thinking problem that reviews one of a number of basic mathematical skills (averages, percent, probability, algebraic substitution, translating English to algebra, and proportional thinking). The third problem (sketch) is a visual thinking problem that requires students to think in two to three dimensions and reviews the necessary geometry vocabulary. The fourth problem is created by you, the teacher, and could be a review problem from class or homework.
