Written as part of the 'conversation' of theology, McFague describes this 'metaphorical perspective' as a thought experiment. What would the relations between religious and theological language look like if seen in the light of the way metaphors become models, in light of the relativity and openness of metaphorical thinking, and in light of the intrinsic iconoclastic and transformative character of metaphorical thought?
