Until now available only in difficult to decipher facsimile editions (the last of which was printed almost 65 years ago), the present 'user friendly' edition makes this classic of religious liberty readily available for student and specialist alike. Richard Grove's faithful rendering of Helwys's words in readable modern English gives a clarity of Helwys's ideas that, by present-day readers, previously could be approached only as 'through a glass darkly.'
