New Testament Christology hypothesis is: 'we can learn how the writings of the New Testament understand the person and work of Jesus Christ by paying attention to the explicit and implicit stories of Christ in the New Testament. These stories provide a literary-historical framework within which readers can understand 1) Jesus' relationship to God and humanity; 2) the significance of his life, death, and resurrection; and 3) the titles attributed to him. Focusing upon these stories prevents us from isolating the person of Jesus from the work he performs and challenges us to understand his role within a broader literary-historical context.'
