'North America' presents an overview of the geography of this continent and the countries that make up North America. The teaching and learning in this unit are based on the five themes of geography developed by the Association of American Geographers and the National Council for Geographic Education. The five themes of geography are: Location (position on the Earth's surface) Place (physical and human characteristics) Relationships within places (humans and the environment) Movement (human interactions on the Earth) Regions (how they form and change). 'North America' is divided into seven sections: Introducing North America Water and Landforms Geographic Regions Political Divisions North America's Resources North American Animals The People
