This is the New Testament in Latin. It is the New Testament portion of the Biblia Sacra Vulgata, published in 1975, edited by Gribomont, Sparks, Thiele, and Weber. In the New Testament all texts have an Old-Latin base; but this base has been revised by ancient editors in the light of the Greek, with varying degrees of thoroughness - in the Gospels rather hurriedly, in most other books more carefully. The reviser of the Gospels was certainly Jerome: the reviser(s) of the other books, or groups of books, are altogether unknown. It begins with a Latin-only 'Introduction' which includes: 1. The Edition and its Text; 2. The Critical Apparatus: Structure and Critical Signs, Notes on the Use of the Apparatus. This edition contains the Sigla Insert for the Novum Testamentum Graece et Latine. This insert helps identify the symbols used in the extensive text-critical apparatus. The entire text of this book is in Latin only.
