The NRSV is the most recent revision of the forty year old Revised Standard version. The entire text has been revised and recast in modern vocabulary and construction. One of its major features is that it is gender-inclusive - where the original languages implied both men and women, the correct English forms are used. The Reader's Edition is the Bible text without any extras.
