This book is designed to assist the clergy of major denominations (and a few independent pastors too) in successfully beginning and completing a job hunt. This book will lead pastors on a step-by-step process of initiating and receiving a new call, from the decision of whether to leave a present post, to settling in a new charge. One section assist clergy who are considering parachuting out of the ordained ministry entirely. Opening the Clergy Parachute discusses current employment trends in the ordained ministry, defining one's ministry, deciding when to go (for good or less than good reasons); and understanding the placement system in one's network. The author also provides sample resumes.
