It is one of the most common-and painfully debilitating-assumptions about ministry. It can take up to 50% (if not more) of a pastor's time, and has little or nothing to do with the training they have received in seminary or college. It is administration. People don't often realize that running a church is at least as challenging as running a business and/or a non-profit organization and that the paper work, appointments, civil obligations, church maintenance, are all part of the job. This reality drives many out of ministry; away from being the shepherd that they believed they were called to be through teaching and preaching. In this book Pastor C.E.O. Dr. Freddy Davis, a pastor for over twenty-five years speaks about his own struggle to reconcile this aspect of ministry and how God resolved the matter for him in his heart.
