Very few of us use the language of spiritual disciplines to talk about household economics, the art of hospitality or the gift of dying well. However, as the authors of this volume remind us, God is as glorified in our willingness to offer hospitality as He is in our desire to utter prayers and He is as honored by the way we organize our household finances as He is in our periods of occasional fasting. This earthy and often communal consideration of the spiritual disciplines will make an excellent companion to Richard Foster's Celebration of Discipline.
