Father Donovan's three volumes on Cycles A, B, and C, while not homilies in themselves, present homilists with the scriptural and liturgical contexts for all the Sundays and feast days. All the readings are discussed and usually in ways that reveal (1) what the text meant then, and (2) what they might be saying now. Not a substitute for personal study, but a knowledgeable, practical and precious resource.
