In 1974, Witness Lee initiated the work of translating the New Testament into English. Having enlisted the help of others, the result is the Recovery Version translation. The Recovery Version embodies extensive research into the meaning of the original text and attempts to express this meaning with English that is to the point, easy to understand, and readable. (In those places where it is difficult to express the exact meaning of the original Greek, explanatory footnotes have been supplied.) Following the precedent set by major authoritative English versions, and taking these versions as reference, the Recovery Version incorporates lessons learned from an examination of others' practices, and also attempts to avoid biases and inaccurate judgments. Frequently guided by other versions, it attempts to provide the best utterance for the divine Word, expressed in the English language with great accuracy. This is a text only edition of the New Testament (with footnotes and blank note pages) in hardcover.
