Rebecca is going to Camp Nokomis for the summer to swim, canoe, make new friends, and escape from the polio epidemic that has stricken the city. Rebecca discovers that making new friends is a lot more difficult than she thought it would be, especially when there's a girl in her tent that bribes the other girls to vote for her for important camp things instead of Rebecca. Rebecca's bunkmate seems to be keeping secrets from her as well . . . and then she goes missing! Can Rebecca figure out what has happened to her bunkmate?
