People are constantly bombarded with sensory information through their experiences of the environment and by contact with other people. However, decoding and regulating this information can be difficult and overwhelming for sensory-challenged children. Sensory Integration addresses the needs of children with sensory integration dysfunction. This handbook offers practical, detailed information for teachers and parents to make careful observations to understand sensory problems. By recognizing a child's underlying difficulties, such as hypersensitivity or hyposensitivity to touch and movement, appropriate activities can be planned. The book includes lists of suggested strategies covering a wide range of specific gross and fine motor needs.
