This volume contains the mighty Reformer's commentary on the Sermon on the Mount, which was written, for the most part, in Wittenberg 'amid the Stormy days of the spring and summer of 1521,' and his exposition of the Magnificent, Mary's wonderful hymn of praise to the Lord. Luther's style is vigorous. It is crystal-clear and often vividly picturesque. The great preacher and scholar never minces words. At times he speaks with the utmost ten derness; at times his statements are veritable hammer blows.
