This volume is part of a series compiling the complete works of Augustine in 'translation for the 21st century.' This current volume of sermons is one of 17 volumes of Augustine's homilies. The text of each sermon has italicized biblical passages and those are identified at the point of quotation. A chronological table provides theme, date, and edition for each sermon. There also is an index of scripture passages, which keys to sermon number. Finally, there is a general index, again keying to sermon number.
