Reading comprehension is a vital skill for cognitive development, academic (and eventually career) success, opening the doors to literary and higher forms of learning. This can be divided into four areas: recognizing main ideas, understanding details, determining sequence and drawing conclusions. Each skill is introduced and explained in the 'Learn It!' section; the 'Try It!' section allows students to practice the skill, and then reading the answer underneath; finally, the graded 'Practice It!' section allows for assessment of learned skills. Softcover, 62 reproducible pages. Middle-lower High.
