This book is divided into three units: Prefixes, Suffixes, and Combining Forms. Each lesson comprises three parts: Learn It! Practice It! and Apply It! Each word part is presented, explained, and modeled in the Learn It! section. If adding an affix changes the spelling of the base word, the spelling change is also noted in this section, with examples. The new word parts taught in each lesson are practiced in the Practice It! section. Here, students are asked to use what they have learned in the Learn It! section to figure out meanings of new words.
